Cheadle Masjid has completed the purchase of the site formerly known as The Waggon & Horses, in an exciting development for our community. We have renamed the site as Stanley House, in remembrance of a local figure who was one of the first reverts to Islam in the area.
Stanley House brings our vision of a strong, connected local community into reality. This is an exciting and meaningful step forward, and we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in this way.
The site
Stanley House is located opposite the current Masjid site and is a large complex, with strong potential:
- 2.5 Acres
- Main building: Ground and first floor with a variety of large and small rooms and a commercial kitchen, perfect for a number of different activities
- Outbuildings (including the former Wacky Warehouse)
- Childrens playground
- Bowling Green / Sports facilities
- Pavilion
- 90 car parking spaces
By the grace of Allah, we have been blessed to secure this property, laying the foundations for a flagship institution that will nurture generations and serve as a lasting legacy for both the Muslim community and wider society.
Vision for Stanley House
Stanley House will be developed as a shared community space founded upon sincerity of intention and a commitment to long-term benefit. By the will of Allah, it will be a place of service, compassion, and sustainability, designed not only to meet the needs of today, but to benefit generations to come.
Our vision for Stanley House includes:
- A welcoming community café that provides halal livelihoods, creates local employment, and strengthens social bonds
- Safe and nurturing spaces for young people and families to grow with confidence, identity, and purpose
- Educational workshops and skills-development programmes that empower individuals and unlock potential
- Mental health and wellbeing support delivered with dignity, care, and compassion
- Spaces for clubs, groups, and community organisations to collaborate in service of the ummah and wider society
- Facilities for gatherings, celebrations, and community events that bring hearts together
- Accessible rooms available for community hire, ensuring the space remains open and inclusive
- Counselling rooms and potentially a womens refuge centre
Every element of Stanley House will be developed with trust (amanah), responsibility, and community consultation, so that it stands as a form of ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah), a space that continues to serve the community and earn reward, by the permission of Allah, long into the future.

The Amanah Before Us
Stanley House has been secured through a Qard Hasan (interest-free loan), placing upon us a sacred trust, an amanah that must now be fulfilled.
To fully repay this loan and safeguard the future of this project, £4 million is required. This is not simply a financial target; it is a responsibility we carry before Allah ﷻ. We are committed to meeting it with full transparency, care, and accountability.
This amanah does not belong to a single organisation or a small group. It belongs to every individual who believes in investing in lasting good, strengthening our community, and building something that will benefit generations long after we are gone.
