We’re thrilled to announce our Women’s Mental Health First Responder Course at Cheadle Mosque, starting on Sunday, 8th September. This course is designed to equip you with the essential skills to recognise, connect with and assist individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Interactive sessions with expert Dr. Athba Al-Kamil (Consultant NHS Psychiatrist)
Practical skills and role-play scenarios
Learn how to connect with local mental health resources

Remaining dates: 22 September, 6th & 20th October, 3rd & 17th November.
Please note: Spaces are limited, and priority will be given to those who can attend all sessions and those with relevant qualifications or active community roles.
About the Course
This early intervention training program is designed to mobilise and empower Muslim communities by equipping people with the knowledge and confidence to recognise, connect, and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. This educational course teaches how to give first aid to others and is not a therapy or support group.
Course Structure:
• Duration: 12 hours split across 6 days into 1-2 hour sessions
• Certification: Attendance required at all sessions to receive certification

• Session 1: Depression and Anxiety
• Session 2: Relationship Difficulties and Personality Problems
• Session 3: Domestic Violence
• Session 4: Isolation, and Coping with Physical Illness and Dementia
• Session 5: Stress, Trauma, and PTSD
• Session 6: Perinatal Mental Health Illness
